With an open mind

Suppose you are a teacher and you stood on the Malieveld at the end of 2019 to participate in protests for wage increases in education. Suppose you made your voice heard in the Amelisweerd in recent weeks to prevent tree felling. Suppose you are convinced that there should be more social housing, and as a local politician you are committed to this. There is a good chance that you have drawn the attention of Vizier op Links.

In recent weeks, several Dutch people reported that they found stickers from Vizier op Links on their doormat or in their mailbox. It is not yet clear who is behind this platform, but let's hope this changes soon.

Because, it is quite special that a call from Gordon, of all people, to no longer post anonymous comments on the Media Courant site, is honored while at the same time you can anonymously push stickers through someone's letterbox.

Let's hope that the people behind Vizier op Links will soon emerge and enter the discussion with an open mind, instead of hiding behind the anonymity of a website. This encourages further polarization and only leads to fear mongering that does not benefit a democracy like ours. For those who need this in one way or another, it is advisable to watch the 2006 film Das Leben der Andere again. Then you get an interesting insight into what it can lead to when you constantly and systematically monitor each other and spy anonymously. Not a cheerful prospect.
