Issuemakers welcomes Marije Laffeber as new Managing Director
Issuemakers, the leading consultancy in corporate communications and public affairs, is proud to announce that Marije Laffeber will take over the role of Managing Director as of January 2025. The intention is for Marije to take over full management responsibility from the two founders, Sybrig and Mayke van Keep, in mid-2025. To ensure a smooth transition and to further develop Issuemakers' strategic direction, she will work closely with Sybrig and Mayke until then.
Marije Laffeber has extensive experience in the field of communication, campaigns, politics and strategic advice. She has been in leadership for over 25 years at political-administrative level in the Netherlands, Europe and in international positions. Marije started her professional career in the communication sector, as a press officer. She then worked as PvdA foreign secretary, vice-chairman European Affairs and Deputy Secretary-General of the Party of European Socialists in Brussels.
Her knowledge of politics, her vision on communication, her leadership experience and her ability to translate complex social issues into clear strategies, make her an excellent choice to lead Issuemakers to the next phase. Her leadership style is characterized by an open and connecting approach, in which cooperation and innovation are central.
Future plans
Under the leadership of Marije Laffeber, Issuemakers will continue to focus on agenda setting, managing and monitoring social and political issues with special attention to content, public affairs, press approach and crisis management. With her arrival, the agency wants to further focus on increasing the social and political impact of its clients and strengthening the position of Issuemakers as an expert in the field of issue management.
